randomosity
yay steelers! i do have a soft spot in my heart for football, though i don't really regularly watch any sports, but we love the steelers in my house. my mom has a flag hung outside and a scarf draped over the wreath on the front door, and she's been wearing her roethlisberger jersey and waving her terrible towel all day. lol. anyway looking forward to the superbowl now.
watched my first ep of hawaii five-0 tonight, and i'm pretty excited about it. i DL'd a bunch of it and of no ordinary family, excited about both. a family of superheroes headed by vic mackey! boomer, jin kwon and one of the annoying twins from ocean's 11 all in one show! i love tv.
feeling much better since falling down the stairs. had something of a bad luck week in that my car also died while i was on the way to albany to hang with halfdreams, peregrina, and usually9_15, but thankfully i cashed in a favor with lheena so she came and got me, and we proceeded to spend the weekend in drunken style. i also managed to fall on linds and steph's vacuum cleaner and get a gigantic bruise on my ass, but that's neither here nor there...
i love my e-reader. i have the barnes & noble nook, and i'm in love with it. i've been reading so much since christmas and it's been so awesome. i'm about 2/3 of the way through 'the amazing adventures of kavalier and clay' by michael chabon and i am just wallowing in it. it's weird because it's so unique, but reading it i feel the way i did/do when reading or rereading some of my favorite books-- most of which, despite my predilection for sci-fi and fantasy, are just straight-up fiction. 'the lacuna' by barbara kingsolver and 'the blind assassin' by margaret atwood are two that come to mind. and idk what it is about them that feels so similar, but it's been a while (since i read 'the lacuna', actually) that i felt like this about a book. ♥
also i'm still not long on time these days, but i'm going to try to put up a poll about a potential second round of operation80, because i'd really like to do it again and i hope some of you guys would be interested, at least in reading the products if not participating yourselves. :)
okay, i'm beat, i'm going to finish this ep and head to bed. longish day tomorrow, but once i get home i'm probably going to kick back with some wine and watch my DL of 'red'. \o/ goodnight lovelies!
