it's that time again.... time to start helping me narrow down ideas for what to write for reel trek.
let's review last year's unchosen options :

also squared : might sign up for a second prompt for art. i don't do enough fanart, man. also mutantjules i'm prodding you, you say you never post your art well, i think you should do some for reel trek. *nod* so let it be written, etc etc. i could actually do empire records for art... that'd be a hell of a lot easier than fic. and that movie cover is so iconic. though, lulz @ uhura in that blue fluffy sweater.
this will likely become a formal poll sometime soon, but for now i'm just tossing out ideas. if there's a movie you think i should do instead, tell me in the comments.

- Boondock Saints - Kirk and Spock as the brothers, Spock Prime as the Duke, Scotty as Rocco their slightly dopey BFF, Pike as Smecker with Uhura, Chekov and Sulu as the FBI agents (yeah, Sulu's so Greenley, lol, and i promise i don't just want to write this in order to make Chekov say "what's the symbology there?" ;)).
- The Thomas Crown Affair - Kirk is Thomas Crown the millionaire-turned-art-thief, Spock is Banning the insurance detective with a stupid crush, Uhura is Mike the cop with the crush on Spock, McCoy is Anna the forger who everyone thinks Crown is banging... idk, this is less fleshed out, i just like the idea of a scene where kirk crashes a boat cus he likes the splash. :E
- And for the Extreme Woobie Edition : Star Trek III, the Search for Spock, P.S. I Love You style. Because [copied directly from last year] I [had] just watched TSOS last weekend and was wallowing in how broken Kirk was after Spock died, and everything he went through to get him back. I'm not sure which way I'd have it end; sad but hopeful for kirk, but with spock still dead; or totally woobie and sweet with spock coming back to life. THOUGHTS? this would likely be an extremely short piece, since i doubt my ability to write more than 1K words of fluff. >.>;;;
- Impostor - not really sure how I'd reboot this one-- definitely more interested in a 'playing in this universe' type of story than an actual rewrite/reboot of the movie, but i fucking love this story and would love to fuck around with it (or any PKDick story, actually. minority report would own, or paycheck... hmmm...)
- Empire Records - because rebooting 90s teen movies is apparently not old yet? idk about most of the boys but uhura is corey and gaila is gina, scotty is either lucas or marc, pike is joe, and fuck, i guess nero is rex manning. idek, you guys, idek. this is on the list mostly so one of you can tell me it's a ridiculous idea. :3
- Lucky Number Slevin - kirk is slevin, pike or winona is goodkat, nero is the boss and kodos is the rabbi, spock or gaila are lindsey, idk, mostly i want to have kirk and one of his parent figures do some pwning. also the idea of uhura and whichever of spock or gaila isn't the love interest being one pair of thugs dragging kirk everywhere, and sulu & chekov or sulu & scotty being the other. idek, there's so much potential for hilarity.
