I finally feel rejuvenated. I did as close to nothing as I can handle last weekend and it was lovely. Ok..really, it was maddening but it had to be done. I am still suppressing a little guilt about not cleaning my house more or whatever, but meh overall I can tell my choices were best for me. I wrote my final paper for my hell class, and now am enjoying struggling to understand demand curves, it is way easier. I have been rocking both in school and at work so GO ME!
I am actually feeling a little holiday spirit. I think this comes from being organized and being mostly finished with shopping for my BF and knowing what I will get everyone else. I budget helps and I think we will not starve of be stranded in holiday road trip year 2. This is good. We even looked at trees which I will allow in my home. The perfect horrible silver tinsel mess as eluded us thus far, but we are on the hunt. Someone suggested Sears, I am excited to go waltz through the appliances and dream.
I am happy, the dog who is usually a Moody Moody Miss, is happy, the kitties are fat and happy, Mike other than being in constant pain is happy. This balance is very enjoyable and makes me kind of giddy. I feel thankful and lucky every day for all that I have. I feel for the first time ever truly understood, appreciated and like I have a true partnership. Amazeballs.
I got an iPod Nano. The Gen 5 kind that shoots video, I would totally lose that new cube thing. I needed it to get back on the treadmill and I won it at Dave and Busters with my amassed tickets. Mike had fun at D&B inspite of himself, I think because I really only play games that old people play like the push coins over the ledge on. I love that game, particularity in the Wheel of Fortune flavor. Anyway, fun date and iPod, score! I feel all kinds of YAY about this and now listen to it in my car blasting X-Ray Spex and The Smiths while singing along happily.
My boss also sold me is PS3 so we can stream Netflix at home and other stuff. I hear it will be life changing, I think it will be like having a media center. Our DVD player is threatening to die and this plays both DVD and Blue Ray and has a HD to store music on. I cannot wait to get home and get frustrated with setting it up. Oh yeah it also plays games. I have mixed feelings about this, however if it plays my PS2 Sing Star games I am most likely over the moon.
Tonight is corporate holiday part at the Four Seasons. It is cool and twenties themed and I would have loved to drop coin Boardwalk Empire style but I am going to try to make something happen with my existing wardrobe. This is the suck of being an adult and having a budget, as boarwalk Empire makes me drool outfit wise and this would be a great excuse to pamper my inner Lucy. I am pretty excited about prime rib however. Yes.
Ev is visiting this weekend and I have two more holiday parties. One is a gingerbread house making brunch with many many dear friends on Sunday. I have never attempted to construct a house out of gingerbread but Mike has and he is very excited. So I am going to go with that momentum.
Um I think that is it for now. Fa la la la la...
