HAPPY BIRTHDAY
kalliel! ♥
Please accept this small drabble with the knowledge that fan fiction isn't my forte.
Itachi didn't see the point in shinobi acknowledging their day of birth. A shinobi was a tool, and people didn't hold celebrations for garden hoes.
So Itachi couldn't understand why his younger brother--who had already proven that he wanted to become an exceptional shinobi--was being given a cake that mother had baked. Itachi was fairly certain that his younger brother disliked sweets, so why did he smile when it was placed before him?
Mother instructed him to blow out the candles to 'make a wish.'
Father left the room as soon as they went out. It was expected that Itachi follow.

Long after the sun had set, Itachi returned to find his younger brother sitting on the exterior walkway, facing mother's garden. Itachi's gaze drifted over the plants mother tended to daily. The only thing out of place was a sole potted plant that had been knocked onto its side, the dirt from within spilled outward, obstructing the otherwise pristine pathway. It was either an animal's doing or mother simply overlooked it when cleaning up after herself.
Itachi looked back to find his younger brother watching him with anxious eyes, as if afraid that he would be told off for being out of bed at this hour. Itachi motioned for him to come and he did so obediently.
A gentle poke to the forehead. "Happy birthday, Sasuke."
As for the aforementioned icon-gift,
here's what I came up with. If you wanted something not 10-RANKAI, please don't hesitate to say so.
