Alrighty folks. I have a few blogs, and I've decided that I'll be focusing most of my NaNo news over here on LJ for the next few weeks. I'm not entirely certain how much posting that will entail, but it seemed like a good idea to specialize, especially since I'm aiming to not neglect my normal activities, which will still be documented on my main blog over at
my website or can be read via feed:
eawhitt.
So. I think this is my favorite NaNo icon thus far, and I suspect I'll be using this advice a few times, especially since my people work in a hospital. Yay killing characters!
And my Day 1 count is 1,941. Quite respectable. I'm not aiming to blow this out of the water - this year, NaNo is my release valve, my chance to practice writing and explore some subjects and techniques that I'd like to work into things at some point in the future. It's my playing, which means it isn't supposed to become my work. There are other goals I have for my central writing, and those come first. So, although I won't turn away from an amazing word-count-day, I'm not going to be chasing after them like a madwoman.
So far, I'm writing a contemporary sweet romance. My heroine is a nurse who works because it keeps her sane and a doctor who. . . well I'm not entirely sure what Ryan's all about yet, but he's got some issues. I do know he's got three older sisters, which may or may not help with those issues. We'll see what happens.
