Writing
4,609 words written this week
19,506 words in manuscript

Fantastic progress, especially Tuesday and Wednesday. I went back through on Thursday and cut the chapter that had been bugging me, working the important info into other places so nothing important gets lost, and started with hard-core editing on Friday for the Wednesday deadline. Got a little done on Saturday, but had other things to attend to, and am taking yesterday and today off from editing/rewriting because even writers deserve a weekend. I'll jump back on it tomorrow and wrap things up to send off for Wednesday's deadline.

Reading
Still making slow progress through The Once and Future King. I really don't know why it's not grabbing me, but I just don't feel compelled to pick it back up, and its length turns "not compelled" into "dread". Odd, isn't it?

I also started Elizabeth Moon's Sheepfarmer's Daughter. Nearly had a heart attack and almost couldn't keep reading when one of her characters has one of MY main character's names, but hers is a relatively minor role thus far, so I think I'll live. Had a strange dream about this story last night, which is really unusual - I don't normally remember dreams at all, and when I do it's rarely about something I've read.

Anyway, I also talked to my mentor and we've changed my required reading, so I won't be jumping straight into 1,000 more pages of Arthur legend after I finally finish TOaFK.

Other
It's been a pretty normal week. Not much more to report.

This Week
I've got several things to do this week - one is top secret, but hopefully won't take much work. Just have to keep tabs on it. I've gotta go to the local public library and get a day-pass to whichever university library in Denver it was where I found my critical text for the term, go downtown and find said book, and bring it back to be read. Wednesday is deadline day, which means I'll do a first read of my critique partners' work on Thursday, probably write all day Friday, and go back Saturday for more thorough comments on crits .

That's about it. Have a good one.
