Well then.
The last week of classes has just flown by. I attended lectures (but skipped a few tutorials), tried out more awesome eateries (Beijing Duck ♥) and had a generally great time with the people here. Then in a blink of an eye it was Friday and time for the stress-inducing exam. So I failed some more at studying, wrote the exam and then promptly celebrated by attending the program's farewell party (food!beer!pictures!), a
pop-punk concert, going out for drinks and then dancing for hoursb. All of which resulted in me coming back to the hotel this morning at 5:30AM, bedraggled and exhausted, only to be dragged out an hour and a half later to hike the Great Wall. (My whining. It was great.) Thank Paolo the hike was then cancelled because of the bad weather today (it's grey and pouring; otherwise I would have passed out somewhere between two posts and needed to be carried back.
So with the hike not happening, it meant that: a) I'll have to come back to China sometime soon in order to visit it; and that b) I could sleep!!! Or rather, have a quick nap before being dragged out again for dim sum and massages. (I know, what hardship...) So currently I am back at the hotel, and I'm debating whether or not to catch some more Zzz's before heading out yet again for food and fun. But nothing too exciting and definitively no clubbing---Mama Betsy got her fill of dancing yesterday and needs to catch a flight to Shanghai tomorrow morning at 8AM.
I still haven't wrapped my head around the idea that I'm leaving and that summer vacation is truly over. Time to go back home (flight from Shanghai to Montreal on Monday), face the music and start a new year of law school... *goes a little gaga over the number of things to be done once I'm back in Montreal*
Regarding postcards: They're all from Beijing and mostly written up. I'll add in the addresses on the Beijing-Shanghai flight and mail them from Shanghai. You should receive them in...erm...three weeks at most? Fingers crossed that they won't get lost in international mail!
