Fifth in SC, but second in Nevada...

Well, I've been kind of MIA around here for the last couple of weeks, mostly because I've been dilligently working on the presidential campaign for Dr. Ron Paul.  I'm really disappointed in my state (SC).  All of the news media made such a big deal out of our First in the South primaries, and we go and only get 5th place for Dr. Paul.   He came in second in Nevada, but of course the mainstream media isn't covering that, because they just won't give him any coverage!  I've had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Paul personally twice now, most recently at last night's post-primary wrap-up party here in Columbia, and he's just such a genuinely nice guy (which is, of course, why he'll probably never be president) who just wants to restore the Constitution (included getting rid of the unconstitutional income tax).   He's never voted a pay raise for members of Congress (he's a 10th term Congressman from Texas) and he's never wavered on his positions (unlike everyone else in the Republican AND Democrat field this year).  Hubby and I also attended the Fox News debate in Myrtle Beach on January 10th, where it was obvious that the moderators had no intention of giving Dr. Paul a fair shake.  Oh well.   Second in Nevada is still pretty impressive.   It's been an interesting campaign- standing out on the statehouse grounds waiving "Ron Paul 2008" signs with fellow supporters while the Ron Paul blimp flew overhead, getting interviewed by a Russian TV crew and a Spanish newspaper, it's definitely the most I've ever been involved in a campaign before.  I just hope that Dr. Paul's ideas catch on- bringing home our troops fron non-Congressional approved wars, smaller government, and more freedom.  Here's hoping :)
