Happy New Year!

Ah, here it is, 2008.  The year of the baby - only 6 1/2 months to go.   Eep.   One month to go til our babymoon to Las Vegas- our final taste of just the two of us on a trip for quite some time.  My only real regret is that I didn't get to go back to England before getting pregnant.  Oh well, what can you do.  Guess it'll be a few years before hubby & I can take that trip.

Had a good New Year's Eve- very low key- just hung out with some friends and watched the ball drop.  I can't believe I made it all the way to midnight- the way I've been so tired lately, I was sure that I would fall asleep before midnight, but I made it :)

So today I'm sitting around the house, doing absolutely nothing.  I made the traditional southern New Year's lunch of ham, black-eyed peas, collard greens, and mashed potatoes.  Is that just a southern US tradition?  My mom always said that you have to have black-eyed peas for good luck in the coming year, and the collard greens are for money.  I should look that up on wiki and see if that's just a southern thing.  Probably.

Hubby is at his computer playing Command and Conquer.  That must be the best game ever, because he's always on there :)  Actually he's getting ready to go out for a run.  It's about 53 outside right now, but the wind chill is like 40 something because it's sooo windy out there.  And, what's really awesome (me? sarcastic?) is that it's going to feel like 14 tomorrow morning when I leave for work.  14?!  I live in South Carolina so that I don't have to deal with temperatures that low!   Crazy.  Oh well.  At least it's warm up here in the computer room :)

Happy 2008, everyone!
