I just figured out today that my Multnomah county library card gives me free access to JSTOR! Being able to find the articles on google & reading the bit that says you can look at it if you pay us $12 was making me crazy.
I've been helping Chris research his Norman dinner for our household event in a couple of weeks. The JSTOR thing meant we have a much better copy of the Heiatt Anglo-Norman Culinary article. Mine was a very, very bad photocopy from long ago & far away. Now we can read all the translations.
I've been making a dent in my project to find images of the manuscripts in my Lyre songbook, too. This is keeping me very happy and entertained. Apparently, I can type way better on drugs than I can walk. TV is too noisy and moves too much. Travis took me to the library after the doctor today so I could replace my lost library card and pick up some books to read. I got comic books, pirates, & mythology.
I also figured out that if I actually take the maximum allowed dose of drugs I don't feel any more drunk than I already do and my ears don't ache! Still sleeping lots. I feel MUCH better today. Still tired & wobbly, but much less nausea & pain.
The doc looked at me today & gave me the thumbs up to daytrip to Summits this weekend. He said if I suddenly started spurting blood, I'd have plenty of time to get to an ER from Willamette Mission Park. I'll be over the risky period in the next 3 days or so. I told him I thought the surgery team at Sunnybrook was really great. He said he enjoyed it too & they're trying to recruit him.
