sleep...or lack thereof

Do any of you experienced Mamas have advice on sleep?  I know Patrick is only 10 weeks old, but I go back to work really soon.  I need him to sleep better.  Our biggest problem currently is just getting him to go down...I can nurse him to sleep, but as soon as I move him he's wide eyed.  (Even if I let him sleep on me for 45 mintues!)

Hi there --

Here's my rambling nonsensical answer:

LOL that's how Arden is with Dora...she has to be touching her if she's in our bed most of the time. Honestly, it's a battle we still fight, especially if A is sick or something. She'd much rather sleep in our bed, and she howls like a banshee if we try to move her. However, Dora doesn't sleep especially well, her back ends up locking up half the time when A is in bed with us. We kind of just go with the flow to be honest. A's been super sick. One night last week I dumped her off in bed with D, they both slept just fine, and I slept on the couch (gave them more room). Usually I'd go check on them and move her, but all was quiet on the monitor so I didn't disturb sleeping people. Last night Arden was up in the middle of the night, came into bed, nursed, would not settle, wanted to play etc, D needed to sleep and couldn't, A was evicted, back to her crib. She cried for a few minutes and was out.

I know Patrick is a lot younger, so you might not want to send him packing by himself just yet.

Arden wasn't eating in the middle of the night by 8 weeks old, which was when she moved into her own room.

Dora especially survived on not much sleep for the last year, because she was pumping at midnight until a few months ago. She'd end up asleep on the couch as soon as Arden went to bed, and wake up between 12 and 2 (depended on the night) to pump. Then back for a few hours to bed.

Must run to a meeting.
