All in all, I'd much rather get short updates that say, "We make it to here safely. We're tired." than either longer and more detailed descriptions of scenery or no updates at all.

How was Mansfield? pocketnaomi had a fine time at De Smet, SD (Little House in the Big Woods)...

If you're going as I think you are, the stretch between Nashville and Chattanooga isn't particularly *twisty*, but it is *steep*.... once you're south of Atlanta it's like pancakes. Flat.

Nope, wrong route. Also, wrong book. Little House in the Big Woods was set near Pepin, WI.
