settling in, part two

So, I've figured out where the Tesco is, where the libraries are, and at long last, which classes I'm taking!

MAP293 - Number Theory

MAP235 - Measure and Probability

MAC223 - Analysis II (I figure it can't possibly be as bad as when J.J. taught Analysis I...)

PH-103 - Electricity and Magnetism (Physics II)

and last but my favorite so far: EN-339 Dylan Thomas :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The normal load here is actually six classes, but I think I'll stick with five for the moment. This is supposed to be sort of a break and all, and I'm already stuck with Analysis II, which I didn't want to take in the first place but which fit in my schedule. :P

Tomorrow I'm off to Cardiff with a whole busload of other exchange students. Should be fun, except for that I have to get up kinda early on a Saturday. That's pretty much all the big news so far, other than that I convinced my flatmates to start recycling. Oh, and international banking pretty much sucks. This program is supposed to give me a stipend for food (in lieu of a meal plan), but they can't at the moment, because I can't set up a bank account. To avoid breaking money laundering laws (!) I have to prove I'm a student, which apparently takes all sorts of officially signed and stamped letters that I don't have. So in the meantime I have a little hoard of pound coins that I've been living off of. I have to hand it to the British; if you're going to hoard money, hoarding pound coins is much more exciting than hoarding dollar bills. You can keep them in a little bag and they jingle, like pirates and pieces of eight.

Anyhow - postcards forthcoming, perhaps from Cardiff.
