This next batch of photos is from my Kansas City trip.
Year of Photos, Day 96, April 6, 2009. View of the mountains in Canada from the plane. I flew from Kansas City to Chicago, had a four plus hour layover in Chicago, and then on to Kansas City. The whole thing took forever. The view was beautiful, especially all the mountains. However there was something very reassuring about seeing the farmland again, very comforting and familiar.
Year of Photos, Day 97, April 7, 2009. The mountain of animals in Cabela's store in Kansas. I went there with my dad to use up the last of my Cabela's points. I got some really cool pants, and a couple of multitools. It's all very cool and very fun. I love that place.
Year of Photos, Day 98, April 8, 2009. Decorating a piggy bank with/for my brother. He was using for a thing at work (he works in a bank) and it was determined that it was easier for me to help since John has limited experience with glue guns and crafty things like that. It ended up fairly cute.
Year of Photos, Day 99, April 9, 2009. My dad with his "lap dog", Sally. Despite being a large yellow lab, she believes she is a lap dog. Fortunately Dad believes that too. Chilling together in the evenings watching television is their special time.
Year of Photos, Day 100, April 10, 2009. Royals Opening Day! I was supposed to go with my mother, but there was an emergency medical situation with my grandmother, so I went with my father instead. Over 40,000 people in the place, and Dad is the only one rather grumpy about being there. We still had a great time, even if the Royals lost. It was the 40th anniversary of the Royals as a team as well as the grand reopening of the K after 2 years of renovations. The new stadium is magnificent. One of the things I miss most about Kansas City is baseball games with family, friends, and my ROYALS!
Year of Photos, Day 101, April 11, 2009. The sign at Haskell Indians Nation University, Lawrence, KS. Drove to Lawrence for lunch with a friend, snapped this photo.
Year of Photos, Day 102, April 12, 2009. Easter Sunday at the Royals game. It was cold and rainy, but I got to go with my Mom which is always fantastic. And they wore their powder blue jerseys. Oh and John Buck is my hero.
Year of Photos, Day 103, April 13, 2009. Floor at Kansas City International Airport. It's this really cool starry sky motif, and this is an awful photo with the reflection and all. Unfortunately my KC plane was delayed so I didn't make it to Chicago until after my other plane was supposed to take off. However, that plane too was delayed so I was able to run and barely make it, they actually reopened the plane for me. So no other photos for this day. I was just glad to make it home (Anchorage) that day at all.
