Year of Photos: Days 91 to 95

Apr 29, 2009 22:53

Today was so beautiful, sixty-five degrees. One of the first really beautiful days, most of this week has been increasingly beautiful. I happily ran a library errand today if only to spend an extra twenty minutes in the sunshine driving around the city. People were walking in the park, everyone seemed to be just soaking in the sunshine. It's so light, the sun is setting at 11:00pm and it's only April! With the warmth finally returning, I'm ready to see some greenery.

And some pictures, mostly of the interior of the library, because it was so cold and I was so miserable and extremely busy, I didn't do a lot but work.

Year of Photos, Day 91, April 1, 2009. Me in my groovy new dress in the storytheatre at work. I love this dress. And hey! I'm wearing a color - not just black/gray as I am oft accused of wearing too much.

Year of Photos, Day 92, April 2, 2009. The stairs in our condo, "cat's eye view" since that is Jane Austen's favorite perch and look out.

Year of Photos, Day 93, April 3, 2009. Pretty flowers on reference desk. It made it spring inside if not out.

Year of Photos, Day 94, April 4, 2009. It's a Poet-tree, a tree that grows poems. We encourage kids to either pick a poem or write their own and "leaf" it for us to be added to the tree. Poet-tree, leaf a poem...get it? I'm not sure our patrons do. Maybe we need a bigger sign? Oh well. Happy National Poetry Month!

Year of Photos, Day 95, April 5, 2009. One of the crocheted chicks I made for Easter. They're egg holders, there is a hidden Easter Egg (with candy) in it. You can almost see the pink Easter egg through the yarn. I made some of these for my roommates and my secret prayer sister at church. My (paternal) grandmother used to always make these for us and for the kids at her church. I think they're one of the things that got me interested in amigurumi. They're a lot of fun, and I'm glad she "taught" me to make them. I called her up on the phone and had her verbally walk me through it. It's nice to have that connection with generations past.

That's it for now. I'm stopping here after just a few pictures because the next group is from my Kansas trip. Happy Spring!
