Well things have been underway with my short film. We announced crew positions a few weeks ago, had a practice shoot last Saturday, did our IndieGoGo pitches, and now we're going to have a casting call on Saturday. It's been going pretty smoothly, which I'm happy about. I have pretty great help. My first and second AD's stay on top of things and have everything they're in charge of under control. Like getting the actors' headshots and resumes and getting in contact with people for location scouting.
My producer has been great too. While she's more of the coordinator, it's been great having someone planning things out when I don't have the time. And she's already planning on ways to fundraise.
Right now it's rather unexciting. We're in pre-production and just have to worry about paperwork, storyboards, fundraising, casting, and getting donations for our set. Although there's not too much to tell, I thought I'd update everyone on what's been going on so far.
I'll be able to write more after the casting call and production meetings this week. I'm super excited to see my vision coming together, even if it's just a short film for my Film Crew 3 class. But it's been such a fun experience so far, and I can't wait to see the final product in May!
