sunday night...
well i last posted thursday night right?
sooo friday morning we got up early and headed out to the front of the hotel to get the tour, grabbing krispy kremes on the way. the tour guide was waiting for us and we hopped in the jeep and we were the only people on the tour! so it was very personalised. we were early and he was early too... so we ate our doughnuts on the way.
so we went to hoover dam, had a walk around the place and the tour guide, don, showed us heaps of stuff and told us all bout it. then we went in the visitors centre and had a tour there including under the dam and stuff. it was really interesting. we took heaps of pics.
after that we left the dam and went out to the highway again and we went back down to the bottom of the dam and went on a raft (it was a big powered raft) ride along the river below the dam, and saw heaps of things which was quite fascinating. it' amazing how high the dam is hey.
after that we headed back to our hotel and on the radio they said one of the hotels in vegas had a fire!!! and it got evacuated. that was the monte carlo, not our hotel but yeah that was a worry and the entire strip was closed to traffic.
so that was a bit of a big deal i guess.
anyway we went back to the hotel and then we packed up our stuff and had a rest (had lunch too) and got everything packed and then headed downstairs to the theme park inside the hotel! yes, we had a theme park.
so i got an all day pass thing which was 25 bucks and the rides were 4-7 each so if i went on 4 rides it made it worth it. i went on the big rollercoaster twice, bashed my neck and gave myself a migraine... and i went on a few other rides even though i didn't feel like it, but i wanted to get my money's worth! silly me.
anyway, so we went back to the room and got our stuff and checked out and then waited for the shuttle to the airport. it was late grr.
but we got there and had some dinner, but i didn't like mine i got thi loaded hotdog but i dind't know what was in it and i don't like relish, whole pickles or jalepenos... so that was a waste of 5 freakin bucks. bleh. so we went thru the security which i set off from my belt grr and there was a Chili's there so i got some buffalo wings to go. dind't like THEM either! they were nice, and i like spicy etc, but i dind't like the flavour of the sauce it was kinda sour and yeah very icky. so i was hungry! i decided someone didn't want me to eat dinner lol.
anyway the plane was nearly an hour delayed, well 45 mins or so, but we landed only 2 minutes late! go figure! the plane was very empty about 20 or so people on it i think so maybe we went extra fast. it was meant to take an hour and 10 but only took about 40 mins or so. so that was nice.
anyway so gina picked us up and we were very tired, i was exhausted and my headache hadn't got better, it had got worse, and all my meds were in my checked bag, so i had to wait till we got home!
so i had a good sleep friday night and we didn't even get up till like 11am yesterday.
i don't remember what we did yesterday!
i shall ask the boy.
oh yes.
andrew stayed here while gina and cristina and i went shopping. we went to lowe's hardware. and then we went to costco and bought stuff and when we got back, i made a meat pie and a pavlova for australia day. the pav sucked though, it flopped big time. but oh well i'll make another one this week.
today we went to church, www.newportmesa.org if you're interested. it was good but i was so exhausted coz i dind't sleep well at all. i liked the service though and i will say that the people there were very friendly.
after church we went for mexican food... which was DELISH! well actually some of it was delish and some i didn't like but on the whole i enjoyed my meal. don't ask me what i had though i had a selection of an enchilada and 2 other things one was ok one was not.
gina dropped us at the mall after that and we went to crate and barrel, omg i am in love with that store! we drooled. then we went to davids bridal and NOBODY helped us we were ignored so we left. pfft to them. so we went to barnes n nobles and i bought 6 books and then we went to old navy and i got 4 pair of jeans lol, coz they are so way way cheap there... and then i got also a blue zipper hoodie which i lovee it is a gorgeous colour. and then we called gina to pick us up.
i've managed to finish one of the books already haha.
