been a lazy bugger
yes i have. it's thursday night and my promise of updating has gone rather awry. so i shall endeavour to make it up!!!!
so saturday we went to the mall. now this is south coast plaza in santa ana and it is the big mall in orange county. orange county is an affluent area in many parts (um hello, seen the OC on tv??). yes, that is where we were.
anywayssssss.... so this mall. gosh it's huge! we got lost. more than once. it spans ACROSS THE ROAD!!!!! it has an overpass over the road. it is that big.
anyway, gina dropped us off and we went to old navy and managed to spend over 200 bucks! bad idea for first stop as then we had to carry the stuff! lol. so we got:
me - 2 jeans
scarf
andrew
2 jeans
khaki pants
2 short sleeve shirts
2 long sleeve shirts
2 v neck jumpers
so yes he got lots :)
then we went to look for a food court and this stupid mall is amazingly gigantic and doesn't have a freakin food court. eventually we found a mcdonalds and had that. bleh.
anyway we wandered around and i got some soaps etc at bath and body works, and we went to borders and bought some books and waited for gina to come get us.
on the way home she took us via newport beach (this is where the OC was set). it is sooo gorgeous there and the houses are amazing! like... huge!
anyway we had a quiet evening but i barely slept all night so we piked on church.
in the afternoon we went for a walk to find something for lunch but we went the wrong way down the street and went unwittingly to the ghetto. oops. we had burger king for lunch and went to albertsons and bought some supplies (like ben and jerrys icecream, candy, baked beans, oreos, poptarts, all sorts of american goodies.)
monday morning we got up early and went to.... disneyland! lol.

we had lunch at the rainforest cafe. that was an experience! it is a theme restaurant and during the meal every 20 mins there is a thunderstorm that goes on (lightning, thunder etc). and they have like elephants and gorillas that start movin and making noises every 10-15 mins... it's interesting... and loud! we had so much food though i had ribs, steak and chicken with coleslaw and fries. ate half the chicken and no fries, was so full!
after lunch we went to disney's california adventure and did:
muppets in 3d show

orange stinger (you sit on chairs that fly)
the tower of terror.
mullholland is scary coz you go so fast and jolt around you feel like you're gonna fly off the roller coaster, so scary!!!!
tower of terror. omgosh it is awful. i was freaking out majorly!
it is based on the hollywood tower motel where some ppl went into an elevator and i think it plunged to their death anyways, so you get on this elevator but you sit down and like 15 ppl sit in there and it goes UP.... and then goes flying down, and up again and down and you never know when it's gonna start or stop and i was sooooo scared!!!!!! but i loved it!!!!! oh and it's pitch black.
after THAT! we went back to disneyland went on the railroad from main st to toontown. boyo looked around toontown while i went to fantasyland and went on the mad hatter teacup ride (no fun on your own) and alice in wonderland and dumbo rides.
then we met up again and went on the storybook land ride (you ride in a boat around minature versions of houses from stories etc).
we wandered thru cinderella's castle and then i went on the matterhorn bobsleds again.
then we left disney and went to build-a-bear and i built a bear. lol. then we got picked up and we were exhausted. oh for dinner andrew had a hot dog from some place next to tower of terror and i had a baked potato with chili while waiting for gina.
tuesday we had a quiet day i slept half the day, like till after 11, got up, showered, read a book for a while and went back to sleep again lol. woke up at 330 and we went for a walk the other way down the street. went to target bought a cell phone for FIFTEEN doLLARS!!! can you believe this. it is a prepaid mobile for 15 bucks. we were stoked and it came with like 5 bucks of credit too. so we have a US phone now lol. also got a belt and some dial body wash and i got some cat toys at petco. we had in n out burger for tea and it was yummyyyy!
we got to bed late coz we were packing for VEGAS!!!!
so wed morning we got the plane here to vegas. we JUST got the plane coz like, gina dropped us off and we got there 2 mins before they closed boarding oops. but we made it. the flight is only 50 mins or so, rather short.
the view was interesting, the mountains and clouds and desert and HugE CITy! lol.
so we got to our hotel we are at circus circus. this is not the best hotel in the world. next time, we will not stay here. it is on the strip but at the end and so far to walk anywhere. anyway we checked in but they said to wait for our room so we waited.. and waited... and waited. grrrr! finally got to our room and we wanted one with 2 beds, but i think the one they gave us was kept not being ready, so meh he gave us one with ONE bed grrr... so pillows down the middle, good thing it's a king one. anywayyyy.
we were tired so we just looked around the hotel a bit and ordered pizza for room service for dinner hehe. it was good but too much food.
we had a reasonably early night.
andrw got up at 7.30am no idea why but i slept till 10 or after that. eventually i got up and we wandered out to go for a walk down the strip.
we couldn't find out how to get OUT OF thE HoTEL!!! lol. so bizarre set up. i think it's deliberate coz heaps of the places are like this, signage so bad.
finally we figured it out and walked and walked, finally we found a food court and had wendy's (not a icecream place like at home, it's burgers). gee we are so healthy lol!
after that we asked about tickets to shows but we wanted to see phantom and the ticket lady sold out so she said go to the box office, and that is at the venetian hotel so we went there, just across the road a bit down. so we did that and we got tickets to PHANTOM!!!! $140 each but totally worth it IMO!
anyway we thought while we were there we'd go to madame tussauds wax museum. it was ok but not great. got my pic with brad and angelina, and simon cowell lol.
after that we got a cab back to hotel and booked a tour of hoover dam. going there int he morning.
(seen transformers? yes that is hoover dam for those who had no idea).
so we went to the room and got changed and came online a bit and then we went to the buffet in the hotel coz we got 2 for 1 voucher. it was ok.... very american food (no offense, it's just different!). but tasted ok and filled the hole and for $13.50 between us can't complain. so we raced out the door and got a cab to the venetian to see phantom.
we were told to get there early coz they close the doors right on time.
so we got there early and we had real good seats too. not TOP seats but on the floor on the side and it was a really good view.
on the stage at the beginning is half a chandelier and the other bits are suspended from the ceiling over the audience, so when they turn it on it all swings up in 4 pieces over the audience and joins together and flies up into the ceiling it was so awesome. anyway the vegas phantom is like 95mins so shorter but fast paced with heaps good backdrops and effects and stuff, FIREWORKS IN THE SHOW! very cool.
i LovED lovED LOVED it! andrew said it was ok but he did not even know the story so i gave him a super super fast rundown before the show (super fast like, crazy man lives under opera theatre, falls in love with choir girl, makes her leading lady, causes problems) lol that was my description. hehe.

after that we got a cab to new york new york hotel and went to see their casino. now the cab driver told us they have a roller coaster there so guess what i did! yes, you guessed it. now that coaster is $14 a ride! so i went on it and it's outside and omgosh so scary! and so high i dind't realise it was so high and i was soooo scared but i loved it!
we wasted money on the games and arcade stuff in there and wandered thru the casino and then got a cab back to our hotel.
the cabbie was real nice and we told him all about australia and stuff and then gave him a huge tip so he was happy, he was really nice.
and yes that has been our week so far.
