disneyland!
well yesterday we got up early and headed off to disneyland.
we got there about 9am - gina dropped us off.
we got a 3 day park hopper pass and headed on in.
first off we raced over to space mountain and we went on that. andrew got sick. bleh. so then we went on the star wars ride. he got more sick.
he said he wasn't going on anything else. fair enough.
so we left tomorrow land and i went on the matterhorn toboggans. then we went to it's a small world, which andrew went on too because it's not a roller coaster. however, since he was already feeling sick, it didn't improve things. i wasn't all that fussed on it's a small world really. it had a holiday theme and by the end, we were soooo sick of jingle bells! for those not in the know, it's like this boat ride though the lands of the world with moving pupper thingies and stuff... it was ok, but a bit boring really.
then we headed over to mickey's toon town and i wandered around while andrew sat down for a bit. i went on the gadget go coaster which is a small roller coaster. it was quite fun.
i had a look around toon town but it's quite a kids area really, plus i've been there before so it's not like it was new ya know.
after that we went to storybook land which is in fantasyland. i went on mr toad's wild ride through london, and snow white's scary adventure and pinocchio's daring journey. they are all rides where you sit in a car and go along a track that takes you though the story.
after that we decided we were quite hungry so we had lunch at a restaurant thing in that area and we had hamburgers. they were quite yummy actually.
we wandered off to - frontierland, and i jumped on the thunder mountain railroad... which is a roller coaster. yay!
then i went on the sailing ship columbia which goes in a circle along the river they made around tom sawyer's island. it's a real ship and is quite interesting and it takes you past a settler's cabin, indian tribes and stuff. quite interesting.
after that i went on the pirates of the carribean ride, and we had a look around the new orleans section.
we then went to adventure land (i think) and i went to go on indiana jones ride but there was a 25 min queue so i grabbed a fast pass (they are tickets that keep your spot in line while you go do other things) and we both climbed tarzan's treehouse, had a look at some shops, stopped for a drink and had a rest for half an hour.
then it was time for indiana jones, so i went on that, and ater that we went to the enchanted tiki room, but we didn't go in that, just st outside and had some pineapple icecream. it was really delicious and unlike anything i've ever had!
andrew said he wanted to go on the disneyland railroad, so we got on that at the new orleans station, and headed around to main street. we decided to go across the street to disney's california adventure for a while since it was about 4pm by then and we wanted to have dinner around 5.30.
so when we got in, we went right to the soarin over california ride. well i did anyway. i love that ride. you sit in a seat and get suspended in air in front of a huge screen that sends you soaring over videos of things in california, eg LA, orange groves, the beach, snowy mountains, san francisco etc. it's very fun.
i really wanted to go on the california screamin roller coaster so we went over there but there was a 30 min queue so i grabbed a fast pass. well i got 2 haha coz i had andrew's ticket and my ticket.
we went back around the paradise pier and i went on the golden zepher ride, which was ok, and i went to go on the mullholland madness but it was having technical difficulties. so i didn't.
by then it was about time for the roller coaster, and there was a high school musical parade/show coming on, so andrew watched that and videoed it for josh (the kid i babysit). i went on the roller coaster twice. i love that rollercoaster! it is soooo fun! you go from 0 to like 90km in 5 seconds or something. upwards. and it has a 360 loop and everything and it's really long. AND you don't bash your head either it's very smooth. yay!
after that i met up with andrew again and we headed outside to get dinner. it was almost 6 by then and it was dark too.
we had dinner at ihop. when i was in the states in 2001 we went to the same ihop - it's across the street from disneyland - and had a terrible experience. it's kinda a family joke now, so andrew was keen to try the place.
he had sausage eggs, hash browns and unlimited pancakes (he had 3). i had chicken noodle soup, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. it had sausage gravy on it. i liked the gravy and the soup and the mash but the chicken fried steak left much to be desired. i've always wanted to try it though, so now i have.
we enjoyed our dinner anyway.
i texted gina to come get us at 8.30 so we headed back to disneyland and went shopping! we got a couple presents for josh and then left and went to downtown disney (pedestrian shopping mall outside disneyland) and went to the disney store there and i got a hoodie jumper with mickey on it and a throw blanket.
then we went to wait for gina, and about 9pm i looked at my phone and realised i'd typed in her number wrong! oops! so i texted her again and she picked us up at 9.30. we got to see the fireworks too as they are on at that time so we watched from the parking lot.
it was soooooo cold too! i had my jacket on almost the entire day, and when the sun went down it was freezing! waiting for gina was awful and soooooo cold!!!!!!!!
anyway it's like 6.30am and i've been up since 4 unable to sleep. the sun has just started to come up. i shall go back for a snooze i think as we have another big day. hehe we are going to the mall. shopping here i come!!!
