Okay -- so we had the ultrasound. I am pleased to announce that not only is the baby perfectly healthy, weighing in at 9 oz., heart beat 162 (a little high, but they weren't worried), but the baby is a perfectly beautiful..............
GIRL!!!!!!!!
She was so cute on the ultrasound. I couldn't believe it. She was constantly moving. She put her hand in front of her face for most of the ultrasound, because she, like her grandmother, doesn't like to have pictures taken. At one point she sucked her thumb. At another point she had her hands up in the "put up your dukes" fashion, as if to tell the nurse tech that she wasn't too pleased about being poked at.
Everyone was shocked because everyone, including every old wives tale I could find on the internet, and including myself, believed I was having a boy. My girlfriend still isn't convinced that it's a girl even though the doctor said, "That's a pretty clear shot."
So, I'll let D tell you what he thought of the whole experience himself.
We had a blast, and are very excited. Now, we can officially start planning/decorating a nursery.
