It didn't matter. Laph had his handheld hidden, but he'd caught Aerodactyl and was now going out to search for 'Conrad'. Whoever was in his body didn't have the same moral instincts, and Lance wanted to make sure it wasn't misused.
So that was why he was walking the street with a frown, scanning the area as he made his way from Conrad's apartment, trying to work out the route 'Conrad' might have taken.
((OOC: If there's even a tiny bit of physical contact I can work some magic to get Lance to keep his mouth shut more permanently. :3))

It was later on in the night and she was feeling the rush of not starving half to more-death anymore, she had that blood hot and pumping and making everything good. Not that she couldn't go for another bite but now she felt like she actually could kick in a door.
Hands in her pockets, she was heading back to the office-slash-apartment, wondering if her buddy the thing with the extra everythings would be there.

This meant he was going in the opposite direction he'd started at, moving along the street close to the buildings and keeping an eye out for a figure in ... actually, he wasn't sure Conrad would be dressed as usual. So he just kept an eye out for everything, scanning every person he passed.
Eventually, a familiar profile caught his eye and he paused, looking toward it. The person in question wasn't moving anywhere near like Conrad did, but that didn't mean much.

The staring got old real quick, though, so she did a little test drive on the juiced-up and improved Conrad, stepping up real quick and close with a grin. "Somethin' I can help you with there, Red?"

So Lance instinctively jerked back, one hand lifting in an automatic block before he managed to turn it, midway, into a 'stop' motion with two fingers against the vampire's chest. (He didn't notice that his fingers tingled faintly--didn't know that the touch alone registered with the magical residue left by the bodyswapping book he and Sefton had been affected by months ago. didn't know that the magic was activated again, mutated and faint.)
"Woah there." Just a bit close, a bit too fast. "I was looking for you." And then he frowned, taking in the outfit. "What are you wearing?" Oh yes, definitely not Conrad.

"What'd you want me for? I didn't do it, whatever it is."

"I wanted to make sure you didn't do anything stupid while you were amnesiac," he said, and then stopped with a blink, because that hadn't been what he meant to say. 'While you're taking my friend's body for a joy-ride' was closer to what he'd wanted to say. What the hell?

And then her grin twitched out wide and pointy again. "I'm not sure your stupid is my stupid either. Maybe you could give me a rundown."

This was disturbing.
"Joyriding," he said dryly, and it wasn't a car he was referring to--but that wasn't clear, and he wasn't censored. "Breaking things. Getting into trouble. Or arrested." Or any number of things.

It seemed like there was something else she should be worried about more than a cop. Pointy stakes, snappy comebacks...hot chicks with superpowers? It all seemed like it was on the tip of her brain but she couldn't quite pin it down with a finger.
First things first, she needed to get a bead on who this guy was and why he was all up in her grill.

"Because I'm your--" his "--friend and I don't want to have to pay bail just because you chose to do something stupid."
Seriously, who was this? He had a faint suspicion, but it was a suspicion he didn't particularly want to entertain. Surely the city wouldn't be that cruel?

"It's real sweet of you to worry, though."

Unfortunately for her, Lance was immune to bluster.

She knew that. Everyone knew that. Even if some of it didn't seem right she was going to hold on to that until it did.

Even 'one' was enough of an answer.
