Heading towards the rack of books on magic, she saw a pretty redhead already there. Giving her a slight smile, Christine started to peruse the selection.

"Druids that were, these things are huge," Bonnie said with a good natured groan. "Looking forward to the day that Bete Noire catalogues all these dusty old things onto some online database."
Reply
"But I wonder if the spells lose their potency if they're taken off the page and put into a computer."

She held out a hand to the blonde. "Bonnie McCullough."
Reply
"Christine Chapel, nice to meet you."

She smiled at the blond. "He's a cartoon sailor who eats a lot of Spinach and has comically oversized arms. But enough about him, he's sort of creepy. Especially the Robin Williams version. Anyway, what books were you looking for?"
Reply
Looking back to the shelf, she shrugged. "Not sure, really. I'm just interested in the whole concept of magic and wanted to learn more. Maybe I need some kind of general overview type book."
Reply
"Are you a mage of any kind?" Bonnie inquired. In the back of her head, she noted that the 23rd century reference hadn't even made her bat a lash. After so much strangeness in this city, it took a lot more than a girl from the future to freak her out.

"I know a wizard here, and he showed me a bit of what he could do. I wanna learn more about it." Christine wondered if Bonnie was a witch, or mage, or whatever, but thought it might be a bit rude to just ask.

"A little light reading?" she teased. "These dusty old things? Let me guess--you're some kind of professor back home? Or a researcher of some kind?"

Reply
"He's kind of said some similar things."
Reply
"About science and magic?"
Reply
She paused. What was the right word? Wall? Barrier? Well, words were overrated.
"--that thingy down from around the city, he had to use magic and science."
Reply
"What about you? Where does your interest in magic come from?"
Reply
She taped her finger against one of the books. "Looking for a specific spell right now. Trying to unbadify a bad guy, I think."
