I want to be the one to walk in the sun, oh girls they want to have fun )
And today, that meant investigating the library. Research was more of Wesley's thing but...he was...well, dead for the moment. She tried to ignore the nagging guilt in her stomach as she flipped through another magic book. He'd come back, right? How many people had told her death wasn't permanent here?
For the most part, she was trying to see what information she could find on sanctuary spells. And resouling. She was reaching for a book when she accidentally took one the other girl was trying to get.
"Sorry."

"Looks like it's been awhile since anyone took a look at these." She dropped her trashy novels onto the table beside the magical tome and turned to introduce herself to the other woman--
And then she blinked. "Wow," was what escaped. "You're like--super pretty." That was followed by a hurried "I'm not hitting on you or anything! Your face is just a really good face. And I mean, I don't like girls. Well, I like girls as friends to, you know, go shopping with or watch movies with or to gossip about and stuff, but not to like--"
There was no good way to finish that sentence.
"Bonnie," she finally blurted out and held out her hand. "I'm Bonnie, sorry."

At the compliments, as awkward as they were, Cordelia grinned. It was nice to hear, considering how utterly shitty life had been lately. She certainly hadn't been putting in her normal amount of preparing to look nice.
She laughed a little. "Relax. I don't like girls either, not like that anyways. Though one time I did think a friend of mine was hitting on me but it turned out she was just a vampire and wanted to eat me. So that was awkwardvilles, USA for a bit."
A pause.
"Cordelia."

"Most people are too busy fornicating or getting skunked to come to the library," she cheerfully replied, mostly just grateful she wasn't getting a funny look after all her babbling.
"Sorry your friend tried to eat you."
Reply
Babbling was something Cordelia was used to, it actually reminded her of Fred, just a little. She wrinkled her nose at the comment. "Eww. I keep forgetting how creepy this place is and then someone says something like that to remind me" Not that...she's really forgotten at all.
"It happens. I mean, I guess for some people that would be weird? But kind of used to stuff like that in my life by now."
Reply
"Used to what? Lesbians or vampires?"
Bonnie was sort of used to both at this point.

"You worked for a vampire?" Bonnie could tell just by smelling the other woman that she wasn't one, but she couldn't exactly go and say that. "You're not one, are you?"
She peered at Cordelia curiously.
"Was he evil? Are you evil? Some serial killer who likes to attack people with books? Should I be concerned for my life right now?"
Reply
Unfortunately, Cordelia had no idea that she was talking to a vampire herself. In her world, they couldn't do the daywalking bit.
"Also? So not with the evil here." A frown. "Well, Angel is but that's only because we ended up with his soulless psycho counterpart. Not fun for anyone."
Reply
She looked from the books to Cordelia. "So--a witch then?"
Reply
She paused for a moment, debating if she admit the next part or not.
"I'm just vision girl, mostly."

"Where's Sunnydale?"
Reply
Which was where she resided now. She hadn't actually been back to Sunnydale in years.
Reply
"Heard it was a hot bed for vampire activity, though. Which is weird. Why would vampires be hanging out in the sunlight?"

"What do you do?" she asked instead.
