It wasn't sunny out, but the weather in Bete Noire was funny and you never knew when UV rays or whatever would poke through. So he was covered in his blanket, wondering what the hell had happened to Nikita and tracking her down.
To this boat.
And the perky little blonde sprawled on the deck. In the rain.
"Best get inside, pet," he said from the dock, blanket covering his head. "Bit cold for the likes of you to be out in this rain, an' 'kita probably wouldn't be happy if I let you die."
Michael did know something was wrong. He could feel that he didn't feel right. Before he joined Division he never once even considered drugs. After Division.... he came in contact with them.
He wasn't sure how he got drugs into his system in the first place but somehow that wasn't important. He needed to see if she was at the boat. It was a completely crazy notion that she would magically be back but he had to look.
He barely even glanced at Jo when he got aboard. He immediately started searching the boat. She had to be here. Had to. He needed to talk to her. "Is she back? Have you seen her?" his words coming much faster than they should be.
When the guy, the Michael, moved past her quickly, she watched him go before moving up to standing and turning around as he moved with a bit of speed. It was almost a dance of him moving from spot to spot trying to find something.
It was a little like déjà vu.
"She's..." Jo let her words slide for a moment before she exhaled and continued her sentence, "... not here. I'm here. With the boat. Her things. Just... not her."
His eyes were a bit wide, like he was trying to be hyper alert. Wired, even. He just really needed to talk to Nikita. She needed to know he knew.
"Dammit," he muttered almost bouncing in place. "I knew, I knew she wouldn't be here but I needed to check. I need to talk to her." He crossed and uncrossed his arms like he wasn't sure what to do with them. "Why did I come here if I knew she wouldn't be here?" he asked out loud, sounding genuinely mystified.
Jo frowned that he was upset. He shouldn't be upset. She wasn't even sure why he shouldn't be upset, but considering how good she was feeling, upset really didn't feel like the right emotion.
"Because the boat... was here?" The reply she gives him actually makes a tiny bit of sense to her, but she's not sure why. "Otherwise you would've just gone to the water."
De knew she needed to go see Jo. It had been nagging at the back of her head, persistent, but always low enough on priorities it got bumped back when just about anything bigger came up. Because De was awesome with dealing with issues like this.
When the rain started...it just seemed like...suddenly now? Now was the right time. Right now.
"Hell-oh?" Jo echoed to whoever was coming up to the boat. She needed a doorbell. A boatbell. Did boats need bells? They had them. With the whole... string and the knocker inside of them.
Boats had bells.
Why didn't Nikita's boat have a bell?
Maybe it did have a bell and she'd just not seen it yet.
Jo really wanted to ring the bell on Nikita's boat.
Of course, all this line of thinking was doing was making Jo giggle a bit, thinking about how Nikita had rung Jo's bell... and well, there was possibly little chance that in the midst of this laughter -- that Jo would recall someone had said hello to her.
Jo grinned, heading up from the stairs onto the deck to look for the owner of the voice. She'd seen De over the network but this was up close and personal. For the first time. It was something to take note of.
"I am in here." Exhaling, she stopped on the deck, "Actually now I'm here. Here."

Rolling onto her stomach, she set her phone down and got to her knees, "I'm fine. It's hardly rain. You're not my mom."
All of that. All stated really quickly and with a smile. Then the smile shifted to a frown as her head tipped to the side, "Why are you in a blanket?"

"No, I'm not," he confirmed. "An' I'm in a blanket because... it's cold."
Yeah.

De stepped on to the deck, wobbling a bit (of course due to the slick, slightly wobbling deck, and nothing else. At all.)
"You in here blondie?"
