(no subject)
so i don't write in here too often, but i figured i would start again. maybe. we'll see, anyways.
finally, my computer has been fixed and it is no longer filled to the brim with little viruses running amok. definitely good. i also have a new cd rom drive because the one i had had broken.
i have a new job working at the java house and have been working there for about two months. i really like it and it is so much fun. i am now, as of last week, fully espresso trained so can make all of the drinks. which is great, but ,also changes the job quite a bit. i get paid really shitty, only the current minimum wage here in iowa which is 7.25. i can barely make rent and it really does suck. i know i need to at least make a real attempt to find a decent full time job, but, since i am in a college town everyone is college educated and i have no experience in anything. so, i dont know really know what to do. but i'm going to start trying. i really want to move to london or new york come august, but i do not have the funds at all and have no idea how i'll be able to get a job. and my parents' prerequisite for me to leave is to have a job there already. i am in such a weird place right now. i've graduated college, but not with any degree that will allow me to get a job RIGHT NOW. i have to just find something to do and work my way up. i just don't really know where to start. my ultimate goal, i suppose, is to work in publishing and to travel.
anyways. my new obsession, as i always have one, is... AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL!!!! it's a pretty interesting show. i watched the fifth cycle first and then i watched the first cycle and now i'm in the middle of the second cycle. it actually started out as a type of goodwill act by tyra banks: she wanted to help girls get into the modeling business and teach them what to do, how to act, etc. and in the first cycle she was very involved and it seemed that the contestants got to know her a little bit, or at least talk to her quite a bit. and then as you get further and further along you can see how removed she is now necessarily from the show, but from the contestants. she doesn't seem to personally talk to them or get to know them as much as she did previously because basically the reputation of the show proceeds their contest. t
anyways, my computer is being weird and for some reason the cursor keeps moving all over the place which is annoying. and i need to clean my house becuase my landlord is coming over with the terminator.
