Jonghyun’s bothersome and he’s repulsive and that stupid, pointless grin that he never wipes from his
face is almost as annoying as his egotistical personality. He follows Kibum around like he’s the most
miraculous character in the world-like he’s his owner or something.
And sometimes it feels that way.
Kibum doesn’t bother slapping him or cursing him any longer because he’s learned it’s meaningless.
It’s futile because Jonghyun returns the next day (sometimes even earlier), spirits high and beam
present on his spotless teeth.
So Kibum hangs around him-for a little while (it’s more like he hangs around Kibum though).
…You write songs?
Occasionally.
And Jonghyun plays Kibum a ‘preview’ of one of his compositions and Kibum feels that that puppy-like,
lost dog quality he had previously possessed was somewhat wearing off-his intentions and actions
are too human for a dog-for a mutt.
Jonghyun doesn’t come to school for the next few days and Kibum becomes involuntarily worried when
he doesn’t see the boy waiting in first period, imaginary tail wagging.
The following day Kibum posts a notice on the neighborhood bulletin board titled, “Lost Dog”
accompanied by a picture of Jonghyun.
(When Jonghyun returns, he’s all grins and even though Kibum’s scolding him for missing school, he
just laughs and crinkles of glee form around his eyes and, yeah, Kibum thinks maybe he isn’t a dog
after all.)
