Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Skinny as hell and ridiculously tall (6' 9" and about 200 lb), but wiry and deceptively strong.

2. How old is he?
37

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Depends on his mood. Day-to-day, he carries himself with the bearing of a man who does regular martial arts and has too many other things out to damage his health to waste his spine on slouching, but on the other hand, he spends a lot of his canon on the point of exhausted collapse, so yeah.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
See above. He's fit and exercises regularly, but tends to drive himself past breaking point. His only illness is close-to-terminal stupidity.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Generally tense to some extent or other, but with a certain cocksure stride and definitely very little attempt to disappear into the background. Purposeful is probably the best way to describe it.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
He could be attractive. He has good cheekbones and a handsome if lean face. But he never takes care of himself, so generally is unshaven and shadowed around the eyes, not to mention the scars. He can see all this, he just has more important things to worry about.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
It never used to be scarred, until he got half the magical world on his back. Aside from that, he's relatively fair-skinned. He burns.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Short, dark and perpetually messy. Much like his face, it would be very nice if he paid it any attention beyond two seconds with a comb in the mornings.

9. What color are his eyes?
Brown

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
A set of horrible burn scars on his left hand. Napalm's a bitch. And scars everywhere else, too...

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Everywhere.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
He likes his jeans, and witty slogan t-shirts. In the way of coats, he's a fan of big, black and flappy, and he's never without his silver pentacle necklace (now with added messily-glued-in ruby!) and battered shield bracelet. He'll go for sneakers over business shoes, although he did once show up at a crime scene in cowboy boots...

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Insofar as it's possible to find clothes that fit a man his size and shape well, yes. He has to buy his jeans at tall-people shops to stop his ankles flashing, and his t-shirts are usually baggy, but he's certainly comfortable in them.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Mommy, what's 'free time'?

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxers. Generally with witty imagery.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Around the middle of the male spectrum, perhaps a little deeper than some.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Fast and stream-of-conscious-ly, fairly confident with occasional halts.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
A relatively strong Chicago accent, with a fairly low swearing frequency and a lot of pseudo-swearwords like hell's bells, stars above or stars and stones. His main verbal tic is the irrepressible urge to make bad jokes in potentially fatal situations.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Fluent English, some Italian, terrible Latin (although his Latin comprehension is fine)

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
His spell casting is Italian, and he addresses the High Court in Latin.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Impromptu is all he ever does.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Generally pretty eloquent. Within reason. Although when he's particularly hyped up and stressed out he has been known to babble.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
He's book-smart for sure, both in the sense that he's a complete nerd for magic and the sense that he's a complete nerd for everything else. But his power's in the street smarts; it's the only reason he's survived this long. So yeah, he's pretty damn smart, just not always in the useful way.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Thinks on his feet. He rarely gets time to deliberate.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Though he thinks on his feet and trusts his instincts, somewhere behind the mad rush there's a logical brain fitting all the pieces together. He'd describe himself as fairly practical, but his ideals have a tendency to both drive him and occasionally trip him up.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Uh. Interesting. Regular school, but between the ages of ten and sixteen his after-school homework was distinctly on the combat magic side. And when he was little he learnt a good chunk of escapology and stage magic too.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
He's good at magic, both by instinct and training, particularly the blasting and flaming magic, but he also has a good inside understanding of the workings of both the underworld and the CPD. He's always got more to learn, though, and he'd like learning about it a lot more if it most of his learning wasn't done on the fly from things trying to kill him.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
In many ways, an extrovert, but he's not good with opening up.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Driven. Driven is most important. He's pretty much always sarcastic and on-edge, and can blaze into one hell of a holy rage.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Sarky.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Yes.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Always always always fight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
All of the above? Mostly terrible puns and one-liners, with a healthy dollop of gallows humour thrown in there for good measure.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Terminal stupidity.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
-Losing his mother
-Losing his father
-Falling for Elaine
-Killing Justin
-Meeting McCoy
-Any of the times he's nearly lost Murphy
-Getting Susan turned
-Finding out he had a brother
-Michael's child being named after him
-Saving Molly's life
-Lasciel's stint in his head
-FINDING HE HAD A GODDAMN DAUGHTER
-Killing Susan

14. What does he fear?
Himself. He's aware enough of the power in him and the number of times he's almost lost control that he knows he could very well end up hurting the people he loves.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Protecting his friends and family. Surviving would also be nice.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
He actually genuinely enjoys tabletop roleplaying. Oh, and his full name, because that's a dangerous secret to give away.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
His mother died when he was born; his father raised him as best he could before his death, but they weren't as close as they could conceivably have been.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
His half-brother, Thomas, who is half sex vampire and therefore has a demonic Hunger in him. They only met a few years ago, and it took a while before Harry realised their relationship, but they're very close, mostly because until a few days, Thomas was the only living family Harry knew of and Harry for his part was the only blood relative of Thomas' who was not a complete psychopath. But Harry maintains appropriate caution around his brother because SEX VAMPIRE (he's already tried to feed off Harry's apprentice twice).

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Hmmm. In total, Harry has THREE living relatives. Thomas has already been covered; he only found out his daughter Maggie (8) even existed a couple of days before he was imPorted to the City, but he was very, very determined to Show Up for her and make everything ok for her. His grandfather Ebenezer McCoy he is very close to, as his mentor, ally and close friend, but again, blood relationship's only been in the picture for a few hours before he's Ported. If you're not spotting a running theme here, Harry isn't so good at spotting blood relationships.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Mouse and Mister. Pets are family :/

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Lt. Karrin Murphy of the CPD, who works for the Special Investigations supernatural affairs department. Their paths crossed a number of times in the course of their respective jobs, until eventually they became first tentative allies, then friends. He's worked very, very hard to earn her trust, and he wouldn't trade her friendship for the world.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Plenty. Chief among them he'd count Michael Carpenter, McCoy, Sanya, Ramirez, Billy, Georgia, Mouse and Mister (again, animals definitely count in this case). When pressed, he might accept that the skull in his basement, Bob, is probably at least sort of his close friend.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Well, he's made enemies of most of the major factions in the magical world, that's probably an indication of the latter...

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Mostly, his family are his friends. They hold approximately the same level in his mind when applied to individuals, but he holds blood as a sort of holy sacrament, mostly because he didn't have much of a family growing up.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
BAHAHAHAHA

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope. His last girlfriend turned out to be under hypnosis the whole time, he just killed the mother of his child, and any chances of a liason with Murphy have just been snatched away.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
First crush, Elaine. Latest, well. Hard to say. He's just realised how much he feels for Murphy.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Legs. Brains. Sticking power.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
He knew his daughter for around five minutes, in which time he turned up covered in blood, killed a bunch of bad guys, saved her, killed her mother and then passed out. And now he's had to give her up for her own safety. But he loves her fiercely; he gave up literally everything to save her.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA only half the people he's met. Let's see, most of the Fae, on and off, pretty much every demon, half the wizards' White Council, the entirety of the shadowy organisation known as the Black Council, up until he killed them all, the Red and Black vampire courts, and the White barely tolerate him, oh, who else, right, the FBI, a bunch of fallen angels, a LOT of ghosts...I could go on all day.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
A 0.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
It's good when he can get it, kinky and wild and out there. But we're talking about a man who stood up to full-on faerie glamour in the middle of a six-year dry spell, he's not exactly a nympho.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn ons include kinky talk, big dark eyes, confidence, total brazenness, good body. Turn offs pretty much extend to anyone more than ten years younger than him, more than a few hundred years older, or anyone not willing to succumb to some good old-fashioned commitment. No quickies, no one-night stands, no taking advantage, no gratitude sex. Weird bedroom habits...not many, actually, although he does like the mild kinkiness and slight domination dynamic.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
Scorpio (October 31st), which he fits well, being loyal, passionate and driven, unable to forgive and forget, persistent, intense...yeah, he fits pretty well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
While not actively religious, he's had personal experience with angels and pretty much takes it as a given that God's out there, if only to balance the Devil who he's pretty damn sure is there. There's also the heavy element of spiritual balance and control inherent in magic.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He was raised by two good men and one very bad; he has a very, very strong moral code. McCoy drummed control and respect into him after Justin betrayed him. There's only one thing that really makes him compromise it; if it's genuinely stopping him from saving the people he loves.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Pretty much indifferent, since most people's do, but not if they cross his moral compass.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He doesn't trust the Fae, but that's pretty rational in his world, and he won't even contemplate dealing with people who deal in misery. He also has a natural distrust of anyone in a position of authority.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Constantly hovering on the edge of broke at home, with the occasional windfall. In the City, the amount to which he's become accustomed to living on a budget saves him a lot of money, but he still needs to buy a lot of very expensive equipment occasionally.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
He advertises himself as a wizard and works as a PI. He hovers between mere gumshoe to charlatan trickster in the eyes of the masses. Or gangster, or police bitch, or Pizza Lord to the pixies, it depends on who you ask. Generally, not what you'd call high.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
Back home, it was a basement apartment with a sub-basement lab, which wasn't much but it was his, comfy and broken in and had stood up to zombie attacks. But in the end it didn't stand up to a molotov cocktail, so if he goes home now he's homeless and living on his brother's houseboat. Here, it's a slightly different apartment which he has already killed most of the electrics in and is already candlelit and iceboxed.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Very expensive equipment for his magic, like braided copper circles and rare ingredients for potions. Back home it was repair work on his car (now deceased) and large-breed dog chow for his very large dog. A beer once in a while. Trashy fantasy novels. He is a man of simple needs.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He's a professional gumshoe wizard, if he wasn't good at it he wouldn't still be alive, and while he may not exactly enjoy it and might prefer a better paying and less deadly job, he maintains that there's a job to do and only he can do it.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Reading and rereading trashy novels. Researching new spells. Chillin'.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He skips meals a lot when he's broke, wolfs down anything meaty when he can, loves a good steak dinner and beer, and is not a fan of anything healthy. He also adores blood-thickeningly tarry coffee and bacon sandwiches.
