are y'all ready for this
For many of us, podfic is more than just a fanwork, it's a community. We form friendships, support each other, discuss our shared passions and push each other to new forms and heights of creativity. To find out more information on podfic and podfic fandom, check out Pod Aware on DW, LJ or Tumblr.
So, nearly exactly a year ago... this happened. While there were quite a few podficcers on twitter before that, we weren't all amassed, following each other in any organized way. And then...BOOM. SUDDENLY EVERYONE'S FEEDS EXPLODED!
paraka, heard_the_owl, jenepod, happyhanabi and I spent a significant amount of time on today's official podcast talking about how these days, a HUGE PORTION of the conversation, casual socialization, and general day-to-day activity of the podfic community is on Twitter. The podfic community is even the only corner of fandom (that I know of) to have a challenge run entirely on Twitter.
So, here's your chance, guys. WANT TO JUMP IN AND JOIN THE PODFICCIN' FUN ON TWITTER?
