Could this have happened at a worse time?

Last night around 1:45, I got off my computer and went to take a shower before bed. When I came back about 15 minutes later, my computer screen was dark. I thought nothing of it; it had gone to sleep. Well... I woke it up, and there was zero brightness. The display was still there if I looked really hard and held it up to a light, and all of the applications seemed to be working fine... but I could barely see any of it. I tried adjusting the brightness, restarting a few times, and still nothing. Today I looked up my problem online and found that it's likely that the LCD backlight went out. So, I brought it over to ITS, where they agreed that that is most likely what happened, so they'll have to replace it. The good news is that this happened before I left, therefore I can get it repaired for free here. The bad news is that this happened THREE DAYS before I leave, therefore I'm right at the height of final paper season. UGH. They said there's a chance I'll have it back tomorrow, and "hopefully" by Saturday, which is when I leave. I'm coming back a week later for graduation, so if I have to, I can pick it up then instead... but it's still annoying as anything. I'm updating from the campus center right now.

Oh well, I guess I'll be less distracted while getting a start on packing tonight. I'll just feel so disconnected! >:(
