This week is, of course, ridiculous... I have a lot of schoolwork to deal with, and then add on packing and all that stuff. Yesterday I actually wrote out a list of what to do each day, which included the work, plus I divided the packing into chunks and divided them day by day, and the random incidental stuff that I need to do, too. (Like sending Rhianna's program, which I PROMISE I WILL DO TOMORROW, ACK!) Anyway, though, of course I'm already way behind on my list. Schoolwise I'm doing alright, but everything's taking much longer than it should, and I haven't even started packing yet. I can't pull the "stay up all night the night before" thing that I usually do, because I have to actually drive home, so it would be a good idea to be awake for that.
I think I'm putting stuff off right now because it creates the illusion that if I don't start getting ready for the year to be over, then it won't really ever be over. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and it will be so much smoother if I just get everything done. Tomorrow, my efforts are redoubled.
One good thing, though, is the nice weather we've been having. It's supposed to get up into the 80's starting tomorrow! Of course, tomorrow is the day that I have to spend in the Sophia Smith Collection, but Wednesday and Thursday are supposed to be similar. Today I evened out the color on my arms, more or less, so that's fortunate. Here's a picture of my legs from when I complained about the sunburn on Friday. They're much better than this now, it's almost all turned tan, so that's fortunate.
Speaking of Friday, my recital went pretty well. Could have been better, and I wasn't too happy when I left the stage, but in retrospect, it could have been a LOT worse. Overall I think I'm pretty happy; I just tend to be hypercritical right after the performance. So, then Friday night was our third annual murder mystery, which we did in Seelye this time, haha. It was fun, and I'm glad we have that tradition. My character this time was "Ivonde B. Alohne," a Swedish dairy farm girl turned glamorous diva actress. (The story took place at a movie premiere.)
On Wednesday, the Dalai Lama is coming to Smith. Seriously, he is. It has to do with some Tibetan studies/exchange program at Smith and Hampshire; I don't know a whole lot about it, but in any case, he's giving a talk on Wednesday morning at 10, so I'm excited for that.
Alright, so, I'm going to go watch this week's Lost, since I STILL haven't watched it. Then bed, and then PRODUCTIVE DAY.
...OH, before I forget. I downloaded a 30 day trial of Paintshop Pro and want to start playing around with making icons or headers or whatnot, but I'm very overwhelmed by all the different tools and such! I've done a little bit of photo retouching so far in it, but I'm scared to actually try and create anything. Does anyone know of a good beginner's guide anywhere on the internet?
