:)
Today was spent at work; I had to be in at 10 AM and everyone was on doubles since we closed at 8. I stayed till about 9:15 tonight cleaning up and such, at which point everyone got to go home. We all just wanted to be home, but we managed to have a fun time. :) It was tiring though...it felt SO good to come home afterwards. When I turned onto my street, "Home for the Holidays" started playing on the radio- so fitting.
In general, I am both happy to be home, and missing Smith and all the wonderful people who come with it. It's GREAT not to have schoolwork for a while, to be able to kick back and just chill. I went to Jenny's last night with the old crew, which was fun. And long days aside, it is actually nice to be back at Uno's for a while; I really like the people who work there. A few new faces since the summer, but I know most of the people still, and they're all just really nice and fun to work with. But then I also really miss everyone at Smith and want to see them NOW.
Sorry that my vocabulary is so lacking in this entry; my brain has kind of turned off. Case in point: During my last hour or so tonight, I sold this gift certificate and when I was about to explain what the activation slip was (it's a little receipt-ish thing that you keep with the card in case something goes wrong with the card itself), my mind just drew a blank! I said to the guy buying it, "And this is..." at which point I forgot what it was called, what it was for, EVERYTHING. I just kinda stared at the little paper for a couple seconds and then looked at him and gave this nervous little laugh and said something like, "I'm sorry, I just blanked out and I don't remember what this is!" The guy was really nice and said not to worry, and a few seconds later I remembered it and explained it and said that I was so sorry and had been selling gift cards all day and had just blanked out for a second. He smiled and said it was fine and left. I felt like such an idiot after that little move! Now he has a story to tell his friends.
So yeah. I'm off to bed. :P MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone who celebrates it... I hope you all have a wonderful day. :)
