If only I could wake up early enough to do my full eye makeup everyday, I would do it. Unfortunately, I love to sleep and I cannot function with just a few hours of sleep. I need my beauty rest! Haha! When I do manage to sleep wake up early, I use several palettes to do my eye makeup. Don't get too excited because I mostly use neutral colors to create office-appropriate looks. But this week, I'll share with you my most loved palettes starting with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette:
I got this palette in February as a birthday gift from my husband. I remember how the whole blogging world went gaga when this palette was released. I believe Urban Decay was the first to release a rose-gold inspired eyeshadow palette and rose-gold was pretty much the IT color a few seasons ago (is it still the IT color?). I remember seeing the textured tin packaging and instantly wanting it. I didn't feel the same with the Naked 2 so I knew it isn't a phase. (Altho, I might buy the Naked 2 sometime in the future just to complete the trio).
Of course, I had to get my hands on this beauty! I love my original Naked palette and I knew that these eyeshadows have the highest quality. Urban Decay just knows how to make pigmented, blendable and just plain awesome eyeshadows. The colors are right up my alley with lots of pinks, light purples and muted browns.
For a light eye makeup, I usually use Burnout or Buzz all over the lids with Limit and Nooner (the two matte shadows) on the crease and then add Strange on the browbone. If I want more drama, I add Liar in the outer half of the lid and then add Factory in the outer V. Blackheart also works well as a softer eyeliner. To make sure that the eyeshadow will last all day, I use a primer underneath. The swatches above are just heavy swatches with no primer and you can see how pigmented they already are. However, if you have oily lids like me, better go with a primer!
If you're looking for an eyeshadow palette that's a little different from your usual neutral browns, I suggest you give this a try!
PS. In Manila, you can get UD palettes from online stores. I got mine from StuffinStyle.
