Lash lovin': L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga mascara

May 16, 2014 10:18

I always find it hard to write about mascaras because its effect is the hardest to capture in photos. But it's one type of makeup that I absolutely cannot live without (drama!) along with an eyebrow pencil. I have issues with facial hair you see, instead of having a lot, I barely have any (eyebrow ahd lashes). So I rely on makeup to sort them out. For mascaras, if I were to choose, I'd go for volume over length. But if a product does both, I'm sold! My favorites ones are mostly from Maybelline. They do great mascaras for such an affordable price. But lately I've been branching out. My office friend Jinky gave me loads of mini Benefit They're Real mascaras and that's what I brought here. The mini I have already dried out so I tossed that into the trash bin and I went looking for a new one to try. I found the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara in Boots and bought it because I've heard good things about it. I was also curious about the wand because I don't think I've tried a cone shaped one.

As you can see, it comes in a rather chunky tube with a pink cap which I have to be honest, one of the things that draw me to it. This product is supposed to make one look more like the anime girls with huge eyes and fluttery lashes (hence manga). I'm not into that so I'm glad they didn't put any other design to the tube. Here's the product description from Boots: "Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara creates mega volume on top and bottom lashes with ultimate hold. Our exclusive formula, made up of enlarging collagen spheres works perfectly in conjunction with the 360° flexible cone shaped brush to amplify upper lashes and reveal lower lashes. The exclusive formula also contains a trilogy of polymers for absolute hold and staying power."

It does deliver on the volume promise. I just applied one coat in the photos above and look at how it made my lashes pop! I usually do two but I was running late this morning when I took the photos. It makes my eyelashes so thick and full that I don't bother with an eyeliner.  What I also like about it is the wand. The tapered section makes it easy to apply mascara to my bottom lashes. For the bottom lash, I find that it adds just the right amount of length.

This product lasts all day and because of that, it's not the easiest to remove. I usually double cleanse anyway so I remove it using the Garnier Micellar solution then follow it with the Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser.

Miss Manga also comes in a blue and purple version. I think my hoarder instincts are kicking in.
