Makeup Remover time: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Jan 07, 2014 10:00

I mentioned this product in my skincare post last Sunday and I thought I'd post a full review today. Balm cleansers are all the rage last year and now that I've tried one, it was for good reason. I'm really glad that The Body Shop released its version and it came with it's own muslin cloth too! This is the TBS Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter.

I use this is as my first cleanse, the product I use to remove my makeup. Before using this, I use the Muji Cleansing Oil. I scoop a bit of product into my hand and apply it to my eyes first in a circular motion and work it to remove my waterproof mascara. Then I apply a bit to the rest of my face. I think I need to mention that I do not wet my face before this step. I just pin my hair back and then proceed with the cleansing. I do wet the muslin cloth though before using it to remove the balm and the rest of my day makeup. I use the cloth very gently because it can irritate my cheek area when I'm too rough with it. I then follow it up with the VMV Hydrabalance Gentle Cream Cleanser which removes all the residue left from the balm. This one I wash away with water.

I think the only thing I don't like about the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is that it comes in a tin can and I have to scoop out product using my hand which as much I wash it, can be unhygienic. I wish it comes with a scoop too. It will also help me get just the right amount of product that I need to use. I already have a huge dent in this balm and I will probably repurchase it after finishing my first tin. I hope TBS never discontinues this!
