I'm new to the world of concealers. The only concealer I've tried are the Muji concealer and The Body Shop Tea tree concealer. So whenever I read good reviews about concealers, I take note of them. One brand that recently arrived in our shores is
Collection Cosmetics. The Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer is one of the most raved about drugstore concealer in the UK. It has a cult following, this one. So when my friend
Rae of Scatterbraintures posted in IG that she found this at Watsons in ECom, I had to go and get these. This was part of my
Week 26 haul. I grabbed the powder as well because it was really cheap. I'm glad I did because these two go so well together.
I got shade No 3 for the concealer and Shade No 2 for the powder. To be honest, No 3 is a tad dark for my skin tone while No 1 is too light. I don't know why they don't have No 2 in the store. Maybe I should buy No 1 and just mix it with No 3. Anyway, the concealer comes with a doe foot applicator that helps with targeting just the areas that you want to apply it to. What I do is I dab this on my red spots and scars and then blend with my finger. I apply the powder on top which makes it adapt to my skin tone. Recently, I've tried mixing it with a moisturing lotion (I use Olay) and it has lightened the color to match my NC 30 skin tone (another tip from Rae). This stays on the whole day even when I've sweated and get oily throughout the day.
The powder, I would have to say, is a good find. I may even like this better than the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Both products come in a flat pan with transparent cap. It's not finely milled like my MAC powder (the only powder I can compare it with) so when I swirl my powder brush, I do get a lot of fall outs on the side. But when applied on the face, it's a different thing altogether. It gives me a sheer, glowy coverage but still allows my skin to show though. It also doesn't feel as heavy as MAC. This wears off after around 5 hour then I have to retouch. Overall, I'm happy with this product which only cost around P200-300, I think. Both these products are very affordable and perform really well too. So if you're looking for a new powder to try, give this one a go. Have you tried anything from Collection Cosmetics?
