Lipstick Month Post #23: Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic
Here's my last post for Lipstick Month and it is about probably one of the most reviewed product from Rimmel right now. It's the Rimmel Apocalips and I have the shade Apocaliptic. I have another shade but I thought to do separate posts as these are two awesome colors, they each deserve a post. So back to Rimmel Apocalips, I got this from Addie, my office friend who went to the UK recently and she got it from Boots. In the US, these are called Show Off which if you ask me, doesn't sound as cool as Apocalips. Haha!
Rimmel Apocalips is a lip lacquer and what that basically means is that it's a hybrid of lip gloss and lipstick. As you can see, it comes in a very interesting packaging. One end of the tube shows the color while the other (the cap) has an uneven diamond cut shape. I don't know how to describe it but it's unlike any other packing I've seen.
This product has a doe-foot applicator with like a hole in the middle. I suppose it helps with the application but I just can't tell the difference with regular doe-foot applicators. The shade I have here is called Apocaliptic which is a deep and bold fuchsia color. It has a lot of raspberry in it I think that makes it easier for me to wear. When applied on the lips, it has glossy finish that isn't sticky. I hate sticky glosses and this one is far from it. The color is really intense so I try not to load too much on the applicator and just build up if I need more color. It's very, very pigmented so one swipe already gives an opaque color.
What impressed me the most is the wear time. I use this with a lip liner just to keep the product in place (though it doesn't really bleed or transfer to your chin) and I find that it lasts up to eight hours! The gloss goes away after a while but the color it leaves behind is still there and it's the same color just less glossy. I ate a full mean (as in rice and spareribs) and when I looked in my mirror, it was still there. Amazing.
I'm super impressed with this that I want to get more colors. I'm thinking of getting Stellar which is red color and Luna which I think is coral.
