Technically, lipstick month is over as it's already August. But I just want to complete the week with a similiar theme.
Your eyes are not deceiving you. I truly am posting about a lip product that isn't matte. This is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Glosses in Pink Pop and Coral Reef. These are not new releases and as far as I know, they're also not limited edition so you should be able to find these easily at your usual beauty hunts.
The packaging is really cute. I like that it's smaller than other lip gloss tubes because it's easier to store. It's in the usual square shape with a gold lining near the black cap. The color looks much more intense in the tube than when applied. I guess that means this is somewhat sheer and less pigmented than other lip glosses.
Coral reef is as it says in the name is a coral color with lots of orange in it. It has no sparkle or shimmer. So you just get the color. I'm new to the world of gloss so I'm not sure if I can get with shimmer or any kind of sparkle on my lips. But let's see in a few years. I got this on sale at SM Megamall. I think the sale in still ongoing. (25% off!)
Pink Pop, on the other hand, is a bright fuchsia pink color that again, looks more intense in the tube than when applied. So this means this just gives the right amount of sheer pink color. I got interested in this color because Essie Button talked about this color in one of her posts and it looked great! So when we went to Duty Free this month, this was my first purchase. You probably saw this on my
Duty Free haul.
Looking at the swatches, you can probably tell that they're on the sheer side. When I used these, they give a pretty hint of color and kept my lips hydrated. It's pretty standard that glosses disappear from your lips on the two hour mark as long as you don't eat or drink. When you do, this will be long gone. I'm a gloss newbie so I just found out that it's not advisable to wear gloss when you're riding a tricycle and you have your hair down. Your hair will stick to your mouth and when you pull it away, this will create a mess and you'll find gloss everywhere. True story. But I've learned my lesson and I will not do that again.
Back to the glosses, if you're looking for a pretty standard gloss that's not sticky and doesn't have sparkle or shimmer, these are really good and worth a try.
