Lipstick Month Post #4: Fresh Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment

Jul 05, 2013 11:37

For a change, I'm ending this week with a product that I've had for a while and most of you probably know about as well. It's the Fresh Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15. I got it years ago at the Sephora branch in Ion Mall in Singapore. At the time, it was the only tinted lip balm type that I had so I used it all the time. It lived in my bag which is also why it is in its current state. You'll know what I mean when you see the photos below. Anyway, it was super popular and got featured in a whole bunch of beauty editorials when it was released so you probably know all about it. Basically, it's a balm with SPF that also gives color to your lips. It works well as a balm and kept my lips hydrated the whole time I was using it. I also felt extra good whenever I use it because of the SPF. This is also one of the most pigmented tinted lip balms that I've tried. But somehow, the color fades after a while but the balmy product remains after the color has faded.

You can probably see that this is a well loved product. The product name has faded from the tube but aside from that, the packaging remains unchanged. Honestly, this tube looks better than some of the lipsticks that I have.  Which is also why it's more expensive than most lipsticks and balms. You have to be prepared for the next photo. This is the main problem with this balm. I don't know if those who live in colder places experience the same problem but this is how it looks now:

A melted balm is what I have. I only have a half of the product left but I probably didn't use up that much. Some of them have been wiped of from the sides when it melted. It broke my heart when it melted like this because it is hard to apply right now. That's why I stopped using it for a while. Which is a pity because it smells really good and does a good job of keeping dry lips at bay. It gives a pretty sheer raspberry red color too:

I don't use it that often anymore. But when I feel that my lips need a little extra lovin', this is the tube that I grab from my makeup tray. There are other shades from this line that looks interesting but I'll probably try it again when they've changed the formula (make it harder to withstand the climate we have here). Have you tried any product from Fresh?
