The botched BonChon experience
BonChon now available in Manila
The whole Philippine food blogosphere has been raving about BonChon Chicken which recently opened here in Manila. So when I read that they opened their store in the Ayala Triangle Garden, I immediately asked my office friends to have lunch there today. Kaso big mistake. Siguro dahil soft opening pa lang, dagsaan ang mga tao. We actually left the office at around 11:45 and got there before 12:00nn. Super puno na ng tao yung maliit na store! To cut the long story short, we waited for almost an hour just to get our BonChon fix. As in hindi kame nakaupo dahil super dami ng tao, tapos we had to harass the waiters pa to get out order. I don't know what happened, maybe they didn't anticipate the huge turnout for the soft opening. I heard they even ran out of chicken wings which was the best seller. Pero in fairness, ang sarap nga nung chicken. It's not your usual buffalo wings. It tastes even better that Yellow Cab's chicken wings (hindi talaga ako mahilig sa wings kaya yun na ang batayan ko ng masarap, lol).
I will definitely go back to try the other dishes. Pero hindi na siguro lunchtime. If you're going there to try it, you might want to drop by the Golden Spoon too. Buy one, take one sila until tomorrow. (In our case, we really had to go there just so we can sit while waiting for our order dahil wala na talagang upuan/matatayuan sa BonChon.)
