Gearing up....

...for the school year and the pig roast.  I've been building classroom for a week now and have been to a few professional development sessions that start to sound very "yadayadayada" and I want to snooze.  I'm ready for the first day, and I have my lesson plans ready for that day.  I even have some of my assessments ready, but I just don't feel like summer should be done this fast.

We went out on Friday to a place called the Rocket Bar, which was neat because the people were cool (aside from the chica who almost backed over my bike because she can't pull out of a parallel parking spot) and they had Skee Ball!!  We then jaunted down the street to RFD (another bar) and watched a pretty kickass cover band.  The lead singer reminded me of Turk from Scrubs NO JOKE!!!  He even performed "Don't Stop" by Journey!  We rode around the city for a bit and did not get to sleep until 4 am.  Saturday was a very dragging day to be sure.

Sunday we rode up to Harrisburg, had lunch at Duke's, and went over to walk around City Island.  We had some fun hanging out with Randi, Suzi, Laura, and Dave (and his adorable little boy Patrick).  We rode around southern PA for a little while longer, then headed back to NOVA.  Suzi heated up some chicken with cream sauce, and we got home late on Sunday night.

Codi's got some inflammation, so we're giving him ketoconazole again to boost the effectiveness of the cyclosporine.  He's lost a lot of weight, which is good because it was one of his goals.  Now if only I had the will power to lose weight too!
