How's about them Sudanese?

Here I am!

It's Spring Break for NYU, but no break for me. I'll be interning like whoa to make up for the hours I missed whilst no one wanted me as their intern. It's cool though, because I like my site. My supervisors are cool, and it seems like they like me. I enjoy most of my co-workers, but you know there's always that one...

My best friend is coming next week to spend some time with me. I am so excited! It's been years since I've seen her and hung out like for real. This is the first time we'll see each other as adults. Isn't that weird? For what it's worth, we're both still in college, but we're pretty grown. Any suggestions about what we should do/see? I'm thinking Magnolia's, Macy's, the Met, MoMA, Central Park, the Cloisters, Bronx Zoo, Ellis Island, RENT, Chinatown, Little Italy, Nuyorican, and Dashing Divas for pedicures and Cosmos!

Speaking of being grown, I can't wait to graduate and start working. However, I do not want to be one of those mundane adults who only talk about work. Or the weather. Everytime someone talks to me about those things, I want to punch them in the face. It happens a lot in my building, on the elevator. Some douche will make a comment about the weather, and then it's my job to agree or refute using resources from weather.com. One day, I want the conversation to go something like this:

Stranger going to the 14th Floor: Some beautiful weather we're having! I wonder how long it will last.
Me: Yeah. It's the kind of weather that makes you forget about the genocide that's going on in Darfur.
::Awkward silence::

I've already begun to pack some of my things, even though I won't have to be out until May or August. It makes me feel like I'm progressing, as opposed to just looking at apartments on Craigslist.com and imagining room arrangements, wall colors, and the fabulous dinner parties which I will throw.

OK, OK... I need to hunker down and graduate first.
