Of late, life has been pretty good. I'm having one of those happy- go- lucky days. You know- the kind that only come about after two months of darkness and a night in the emergency room. Left the house at 9:30 to get to my internship in Brooklyn for 10 >> A train (running on the express track) is on the platform waiting for me. At Hoyt-Schermerhorn, the notoriously truant G train is across the platform as the A train barrells through the station. I trot across the platform and get a seat. I burst through the doors of St. Joseph's College a scant 6 minutes late.
Nuttin' but Stringz, a performance group, comes to St. Joseph's, and the college provides lunch>> $6 not spent on my part. Day goes on as normal... I rush to the train as the G train is again at my beckon call. Same thing with the A train. I get into the City in enough time to get my eyebrows threaded by the Indian ladies. Always a good look. The guy in Urban Outfitters told me to come again. Please. Check my bank account >> my net check from school and my earnings from selling my books on half.com have been deposited on the same day (BAALLLLIIIINNNNN!!!). Hit up Starbuks and work my charm to get a free Nonfat Chai Latte. On my way back to the crib, I see something on the groud >> a twenty!!!! I pick it up and another bill falls out >> a ten spot. $30 on the street. Holla.
I've downloaded this song "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles after hearing an RA sing it at the Talent Showcase the other day. I literally got chills.
You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.
Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me.
You loved me 'cause I'm fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.
Do not sleep on her. I'm usually not wrong about artists to watch.
See? I'm high- tech now.
