For the few flisters interested in my "fight" against the EVIL that is the Kinder Surprise for Girls

I finally got an answer, and like I said before, they are doing the special girls series not for the girls, but to avoid the disappointment for boys should they ever get something girly like rings and necklaces in their eggs. They'd be devastated! HEARTBROKEN ( Read more... )

Actually, I don't think I ever got a particularly (or at all, really) girlish kinder surprise toy? I don't think any of my friends or my brother even got Smurfette among the Smurf figurines. But then, from the commercials I saw of the kinder surprises, they were mostly unisex -- not too boyish, and not especially girlish, so neither I nor my brother were particularly bothered. Plus, I was always jealous of my brothers cars and trucks and so on, so I probably wouldn't have traded a toy with him even if he'd gotten the sparkliest princessy princess-whatever. ^.^

I used to collect Kinder toys when I was in Uni. Had a shelf full. I don't think I ever got one I would consider "girly". But yes, I was devastated by all the "masculine" ones. *coughs* :P Utterly ridiculous - almost as ridiculous as the "BIC for her" pens. O_o

I had it only once or twice and I remember a butterfly or a dragonfly. Or something, but I know it was ugly. I wish it had been a car. :-)

*hands raised*

I was traumatised by getting some of the toys but only when they were crap - and it didn't matter if they were "girly" or boyish.

Oh, I forgot about that; totally joining in on the traumatization by crap toys. Such high hopes, and in the end the yellow "egg" shell was more fun than what was inside it. :/

Everyone else was getting Smurfs or cool things like that, I'd end up with jigsaws.

I remember liking the cars much better than the one plastic ring I got that one single time (not necessarily from a kinder egg). I mean, it had a nice enough ruby-like 'stone', but the ring itself was just painful to wear - it was one of those resizable ones with rather sharp edges, so you could choose which finger you wanted to hurt. The really disappointing toys were always things that didn't need any assembly, didn't do anything, and weren't cute or even part of some fancy collection :P
