So...now, after seeing the episode about three times (not all the way through, obviously), here's what I think:
The show has potential. The cast is good, and generally have pretty good chemistry. The characters are interesting, or at least have promise.
I find it to be better than Grey's because it is, and was intended to be, lighter than Grey's. Addison seems to have lightened up-- and while I didn't want them to change her, Kate is truly a comedienne at heart. She's cute and funny.
Overall, I don't think the pilot was enough to go on to know whether I want it to happen or not. The insecure part of me is just concerned that Addison might disappear altogether...because I love her so much, and I love Kate so much...and I love Kate being in the spotlight, I love people knowing who she is-- I love her being successful. She deserves it. I don't want it to be a flop.
I also can't see Mark without Addison. (Note sad McSteamy userpic.) I don't want him to be with anyone else. I don't want him to disappear. And I still do think that Eric has better chemistry than Tim (although Kate/Tim is not that bad, I will admit. And I love Tim. Although, the initial speculation of Kate/Taye? That would be pretty cool.)
I need to know more, I need to see more.
AND I need Shonda's blog to be posted. I need to know what she was thinking. It might just help.
