Everybody Knows

I'm tempted just to post a link to the Leonard Cohen song on YouTube and go have an intimate conversation with a bottle of Laphroaig, but I won't. But it sure is tempting....

If there were any justice in the world, Hillery Clinton would be in the Crossbar Hilton for gross mishandling of classified information, not still running for the Demicrap nomination for President. The FBI is, apparently, about ready to submit their evidence of wrongdoing, but whether the Attorney General will indict "The Lord's Anointed" is, apparently, a good question. (Memo to the House Republicommies: you need to have a bill of impeachment for the AG ready, if she does balk. "Obstructing justice" would be a good charge to start.)

We'll have to also see how Sanders does inn the early caucuses and primaries. If he does well, the DNC might consider throwing Hillery to the sharks, but I think it more likely that they will work harder to undermine Sanders.

Not that the Republicommies have nothing to offer either. One very loud demagogue and a bunch of wannabe states(wo)men. They have only to old promises and talking points; nothing new there, either.

Meanwhile, it looks like people are waking up to the fact that the Saudis may not be our friends, even though we have been quite willing to do theior dirty work in the Middle East by taking out every secular, non-Sunni state leader in the area, starting with the Bushleague invasion of Iraq. Its not that cognizance of possible Saudi perfidy is new, because it isn't. Its just that its finally filtering into the mainstream discussion.

In the meantime, Putin is getting grief because he's trying to help Assad, who has been denounced by the West as a vile blackguard. My map shows that Syria is adjacent to Russia, so maybe Putin is just trying to keep the crazies out of Russia. (There are, of course, a few Muslims in Asian Russia that Putin probably doesn't want infected with the jihadi virus either.)
Oh well. In 1683 the Poles saved Europe's ass, so I guess now its Russia's turn.

To close, here's Concrete Blondes' cover of Cohen's song, just to be different.

Slante!
