Officially an Old Fart
My 65th birthday was a month ago. I'm pretty happy with this anniversary, because 16 years ago I didn't know if I would make it to 55 because of a leukemia diagnosis. Last Monday I started on the latest drug for this, 2 shots a week for 7 days every 5 weeks, time off for the weekend. After 5 days my WBC fell for ca 27k/ microliter to ca. 9.5k, with only a nominal drop in the red cell pand platelet counts. I got two more shots today and then the same tomorrow before the first break. Side effects have been some nominal diarrhea and queasy stomach and drowsiness. So far, so good.
