Yesterday was a great day. Definitely what I needed after being trampled on.
Chris called me and we made plans to check out Angel Island. By the time he got here from Santa Rosa, we would miss the last ferry, so we just drove into SF to check out some new places. He introduced me to Mel's, a 50s/60s themed diner where we indulged in 1/3-lb burgers and fries dipped in ranch dressing. We spent a while in BevMo as he jabbered on about wine and whatnot since he works at a winery. I learned a bit and promised to read The Wine Bible. I'm taking it upon myself to drink and learn more about wine. We drove back into downtown SF and checked out the last of the vendors in UN plaza and had a cup of fro yo from Yo Cup (?).
Back at my shack, we just hung out and talked about women, life, love and a few random things in between. It was great and low key, exactly the thing to get my mind off people who stress me out.
Nichole was in town, so Tobie, Alicia, Allie (sp?) and I hung out with pizza, beer and wine. There was much laughter and sharing of drunken shenanigan stories. Alicia gave me my graduation gift - a how-to book on paper arts! I'm excited to try out some of the forms.
All in all, a much needed Thursday. I'm hoping today and the rest of the weekend is just as great.
