On the Farcical And Kafkaesque Nature of Leftist Debate

I was reading about Dr. Ben Carson's at Hot Air and one thing I noticed was the absolute strangeness of the leftists talking points when referring to the emancipation proclamation: specifically, they argue that conservatives can't be the ones who freed the slaves even though the Republican party did that exact thing because it would not be "conservative". Now aside from the stupidity of conflating the modern pop culture meaning of the word with the textbook definition I can't help but feel this is some semantic wordplay so that the leftist can feel good about himself for being a democrat by deflecting the sins of his party onto republicans.

If you think about it this is a tactic used by the left on almost many issues: on the birth control issue they conflate the term "access" with the term "subsidize" so anyone who is against subsidizing (aka republicans) is trying to put women in chains, they conflate hate with disapproval in gay marriage so anyone who disapproves is a homophobe, they conflate "anti environmentalist" and "corporate" so anyone who reveals the fraudulent methods of the environmental movement is regarded as a corporate tool.

Then there are attacks that are downright absurd. Leftists talk about how Reagan was a hypocrite for raising taxes but the only reason Reagan agreed to those tax rises was because he made an agreement with the democrats to lower spending, an agreement they reneged upon to such an extent that the deficit increased. In other words they're implicitly confessing to a bold lie in order to paint Reagan as a hypocrite.

leftist, shit, of, lying, sacks, debate, reagan
