It's been a long time since I published anything on this existential void of an internet journal. Mainly because I've been so busy out in the real world that I've barely had time to think about writing pretty much anything anywhere. I've been married now for six months and so am still navigating the everyday action of continuing to learn how to bind two separate lives together. Everything else seems to be nested within this action, including my all encompassing work of managing a CSA farm. Even that daunting task has been nested now within a shared desire between my partner and I to find our own farm and start a life of working our own land. This has involved many trips up to the northeast to look at land and houses to see if we can find the perfect spot to settle down and live out our own agrarian vision. While we may not have found the perfect spot we did find someplace which I think can become the perfect spot. This last week we put an offer on a fixer upper house on 7 acres of land just north of Ithaca. The offer was accepted and now there are all the details of house inspection, financing, etc, etc. All the so important mundane things which are jagged reminders that all our dreams may rest on the seemingly random whim of a banker or the very real ability of previous owners to keep the asbestos siding sealed and the foundations of a house in good repair.
