The official story is this happened because of a DDoS attack on SixApart. But evan712 pointed out this blog, which indicates that SixApart got slammed because the *actual* target of the DDoS, Blue Security, redirected the attack onto their blog, which is hosted by TypePad (another SA subsidiary).
